Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island is a prequel to Super Mario World, the fifth installment in the Super Mario series and chronologically the first in the Super Mario series. The game stars Yoshi and the Yoshi clan who travel across Yoshi’s Island while carrying Baby Mario to rescue Baby Luigi from Baby Bowser and his minions. Super Mario World 2 Yoshis Island plays differently than any other Mario game. You play as Yoshi and are basically invincible (lava and pits will still kill you but enemies will not) but you must protect Baby Mario at all costs. If you get hit, Baby Mario floats away and you have 10 seconds to save him or else you die. This game never reached the levels of popularity as Super Mario World but it was widely acclaimed nonetheless.
